Draft Ride Classifications

Ride leaders are asked to classify rides posted to MeetUp in accordance with the Guidelines below to ensure potential riders know what to expect. You may add or edit some of the criteria to suit the specifics and purposes of your ride. Please refer riders to the ATAC Safe Group Riding page for safety tips & expectations.

INTENSE

(>32km/h low wind / flat road cruising speed and periods of high intensity riding)

Hard riding, expect strong contribution to group and paceline/team time trial efforts to facilitate interval sets. Expect periods of intense riding and intervals of varying duration. May be regroups after intervals. We're not about dropping riders but you may be expected to find your own way home if significantly off pace.

ADVANCED

(>30km/h low wind / flat road cruising speed)

Steady strong riding, contribution to group. Some regrouping. Should be capable of riding at least 90km at this pace. We're not about dropping riders but you may be expected to find your own way home if significantly off pace.

INTERMEDIATE

(28-30km/h low wind / flat road cruising speed)

Moderate riding, contribution to group within ability. Regrouping. Should be capable of riding 60-90km at this pace. We're not about dropping riders but you may be expected to find your own way home if significantly off pace.

(~25km/h low wind / flat road cruising speed)

Easy and more social riding. Contribution to group within ability. Paced to slowest rider with multiple regrouping. Should be capable of riding up to 60km at this pace.
